A true Danish design icon; the 'PH5' hanging lamp designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958 and manufactured by Louis Poulsen. The model name includes the designer's initials (PH) as well as a reference to the diameter (50 cm).
This lamp, which only won an iF Design award in 1971, is based on the principle of a reflective multiple screen system, which creates harmonious and 100% glare-free lighting.
The lamp is in beautiful vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. The manufacturer's sticker is present inside as a sign of authenticity.
Poul Henningsen was a Danish writer, critic, architect and designer. He is often called the first real lighting architect because he devoted a large part of his life to researching the importance of light for well-being. He concentrated on creating lamps that produced glare-free lighting. His best-known lamp models are the PH Artichoke, the PH 5 and the PH Contrast lamp.
