Danish floor lamp model 294 designed by Jo Hammerborg in the 1960s. This stylish lamp was manufactured by the renowned Fog & Mørup. Due to the sleek Scandinavian design, this lamp fits in many interiors, both vintage and contemporary.
The lamp is in beautiful vintage condition. There is a small deformation on the hood at the height of a confirmation, which is not really noticeable (see photo). The cabling and floor switch are still original and in good working condition.
After serving as a saboteur with the Danish resistance during World War II, Jo Hammerborg studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art, after which he worked as silversmith with Georg Jensen. In 1957 he was appointed chief designer at the Danish lighting manufacturer Fog & Mørup where he worked until 1980. Under his leadership, the company experienced its most creative and commercially successful period. He has contributed to more than 180 different lamp designs, some of which have won international awards. Hammerborg was killed in a parachute jump in 1982.
