Very beautiful hanging lamp 'Futura' (also called 'Wave') from the famous German brand Peill & Putzler. The wavy glass of the lamp and the accompanying mirror lamp provide a beautiful light effect.
This lamp, whose design is often wrongly attributed to Koch & Lowy, won an IF Design award in 1975.
The lamp is in very nice vintage condition and the glass shows hardly any scratches. The chrome is also still in nice condition. The manufacturer's label is also still present as a sign of authenticity.
Peill & son was founded in 1903 and merged with Putzler (founded in 1869) in 1947, continuing under the name 'Peill + Putzler Glashüttenwerke'. Throughout its history, the company has collaborated with important designers as well as other companies such as Raak Amsterdam and Massive. At its peak (1950s), around 1,500 people worked for the company. In 2004, a year after their 100th anniversary, the company unfortunately declared bankruptcy.
