VP Globe pendant lamp designed by Verner Panton in 1969. This futuristic lamp was manufactured in 2010 by Verpan, a subsidiary of the Danish brand Frandsen Lichting.
The pendant lamp is made of a transparent globe in acrylic. Inside it has 5 reflectors of polished aluminum with two accent colors (blue and red). These are held together by three steel chains.
The VP Globe exists in 3 different sizes namely with a diameter of 28 cm, 40 cm and 50 cm. This globe measures 40 cm diameter. The original certificate is also still present.
The pendant lamp is in good condition with only normal signs of use in the form of light scratches here and there on the plastic.
Verner Panton is considered one of Denmark's most influential 20th-century furniture and interior designers. During his career he designed innovative and futuristic furniture in a wide range of materials, especially plastics, and in bright colours.
For the production of lamps by designer Verner Panton, Verpan collaborated with Frandsen Lighting from the beginning in 2003. Shortly afterwards, Verpan was acquired and is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Frandsen Group with Frandsen Lighting. The close and inspiring collaboration with the designer's widow, Marianne Panton, and her family has led to a steady expansion of Verpan's Verner Panton collection.
